The Henrico County Composite Mountain Bike Team was established in 2016 by Team Director, Pete Fagan (Coach Pete); with the drive to be a great resource for all kids; to get them excited about and active in this great life sport called mountain biking.

Boys and girls, 5th - 12th grade, living in Henrico County, the City of Richmond, Hanover, or whose county / school does not have a participating team can be a part; private, public, and homeschool students are welcome. There are different requirements in the two race series the team participates; the VAHS Series allows elementary racers (minimum 9 years old) and the NICA Series is rising 6th-12th graders.

The team gives back to the community. We support RVA MORE with trail building assistance and participate in the RABA Bike Build.

Throughout the year, the team is provided opportunities to understand the mechanics and maintenance of bike equipment in addition to MTB skill building clinics.

Our team runs on volunteers! We are fortunate to have many dedicated, knowledgeable folks to help..... and there is always room for more volunteers; for coaching, ride chaperones, and other needs.

We want to provide a motivating presence for all the children on our team. Studies have shown that teenage girls in particular are dropping out of sports at twice the rate of boys. We want to stop that gap! We want to build a love of fitness, the outdoors, and biking for all children.
